Qi Niu is an Associate Attorney at Illinois Advocates, LLC from September 2018. Qi focuses primarily on civil litigation with an area focus on consumer litigation and tenant’s rights.

Qi obtained her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2018. While in law school, Qi was a member of Chicago-Kent School Trial team and won 2nd place in a mid-west trial advocacy competition. In her J.D. years, Qi clerked for Judge Diane Larsen in Chancery Division and Judge Daniel Kubasiak in Law Division, where she got experience regarding workers’ compensation and employment, insurance coverage, professional responsibility and administrative review. Qi also worked for two law firms which focus on family law and defamation law.

Before getting in to J.D. program, Qi obtained her master of Law/LL.M. degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was trained on trial advocacy for one year and won Paul Lisnek Excellence Award. Qi worked for Student Legal Services Office at University of Illinois when she studied for her master degree and worked as a trial advocacy course assistant after her graduation. Prior to attending law school, Qi attained her undergraduate degree in 2012 in China and was licensed as an attorney in China.

Qi is a member of Chicago Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, and the Illinois State Bar Association.

Qi is admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2018. Qi is able to provide legal service in both English and Mandarin.
